We make a big investment in both time and money to assure we get the best bucks for our herd. A doe is important, but a buck is 50% of everything in your herd. We have used Albus for several years now and have been happy the kids he's produced for us. We have also added Tongoriro to our mix, and this year we added our first New Zealand buck, Anakin. The kids for next year will be a combination of each of the bucks so it will be interesting to see what new qualities we can see in the herd.
Albus Dumbledor is our senior buck. Albus has something going for him that is remarkable. His kids grow FAST! I had a buckling in the 2009 season that reached 94 pounds in 4 months. Now thats amazing!. Albus is also easier to handle, even in rutt. The only problem with him, is that we've had him long enough that he's related to most of the does now. Albus is for sale for $700.

This is our newest buck Tongariro, named after a volcano in New Zealand and purchased from Salmon Creek Kiko's in Bodega, CA.
Tongariro is still young and this will be his first breeding season. I'm anxious to see what kind of kids he'll produce for 2012.
We bought this young buck because he's wide in the rear, something we're trying to increase in our herd.
Watch for Tongariro's kids in 2012.
Anikin is our first New Zealand buck. He was born on the farm from a nice doe I bought from Heavens Gate Ranch in Texas. I think this little guy is going to move us up another notch in the production arena, so I'm really looking forward to his kids next year. I put him in with a few does this year even though he was only born in February of 2011 .
